So, I learned today that a friend of mine who graduated last August and ended up going to the Netherlands was the rigger and did some of the animation for this little gem, (only about 10 minutes long or so) which you can actually watch here or download at the main site. This honestly is, as far as animation goes, amazing. Why? It's done ENTIRELY in Blender, a completely FREE, open source 3D modeling and animation program, that also has rigging, rendering, editing, compositing, fur and hair capabilities. Looking at this is proof that this sort of software could be used for major productions.
Also, if you want to see a rather ridiculous tour in the style of Nathan, you can do so here, believe me, it's hilarious and definitely worth the 12 minutes. I miss that guy. |
